Because most businesses and organizations rely heavily on computers in order to function, they need to have skilled and competent Technical Support people to ensure that all systems function properly at all times.

Technical Support deals mostly with computer hardware; that is, the physical machines. The aim of this course is to teach you the basics of building computers, networking them, linking them to mobile devices, printers and other peripherals, and trouble shooting if there are any issues.

Because our attention at IT Varsity is always on the practicals, this course is a very practical one. By the end of the course you will be a competent Technical Support Technician.

What are my career prospects after doing this course?

There is a huge need for skilled technical support technicians throughout South Africa as well as in other countries. Doing this course you will be your first step into a fast-paced, exciting and lucrative career in technical support.

You may take up a job in one of the following fields:

  • IT Infrastructure Manager

  • Network Technician

What is the next step after completing this course?

After completing this course you may opt to do one of 2 things:

a)    Seek employment and enter the workplace

b)   Further your studies by enrolling for the National Certificate: Systems Support on NQF level 5 (see page XXX)

What are the minimum admission requirements?

To enroll for this course you will need a National Senior Certificate (matric).
